Need to come up with something better than that. I can't go accepting resignations for anything but extreme circumstances, or people start getting ideas. I've always been a stickler on that.
We're covert operatives in a branch that, technically, does not exist even on paper. We need something he can live with and something beneficial to whatever cover story we can swing for him, something that will be advantageous to his position, the army, and ultimately you.
What benefits me personally ain't even in the equation and I'll thank you to keep that in mind. This is about my organization. And if you look at the kid's record, what he wants and likes ain't always in line with what is good for his organization.
Also a dangerous habit to have, asking the people under your command if they like the orders you give em.
