Promotion to Specialist will be concurrent based on your prior service in your world of origin.
"You can elect to live on base. Chow times are in the manual. Quartermaster will issue you dress blacks, BDUs, an workout clothes. Motor pool will issue you a hover cycle. You get your competency on it tested ASAP if you want to take it off base, but I reckon you can move right into advanced riding. Armory will issue you standard armaments. You familiar with any melee weapons?"
She recognizes Stanton, and from her brief interaction with her, feels tentatively optimistic about her assignment. Considering the last time she felt optimistic about anything Judge related-- from her ability to become one to their effectiveness to their lack of corruption-- was when she was twelve years old, it's a drastic change for her.
Anderson accepts the datapad and takes in the litany of duties stoically, with serious intent. It all sounds familiar enough that she's comfortable with it. Hover cycles can't be too different from the more gravity-bound versions Judges are trained on.
"Aside from firearms, I'm trained in knife fighting, blunt weapons, and hand to hand combat, sir." In other words, the things Judges are most likely to go up against.
"Mace might be what suits, then. Let's take us a trip to the armory, see what's what." Because this is really the thing that sets Ghost Wolf company apart from all the others.
Hob rises and heads out the door. "Come along."
Though really, she'll be curious if there are other weapons Anderson gravitates toward.
"Several reasons." She's not going to get pissy. It's a smart question to ask. "A bit of it's tradition. The melee's a big part of what sets the Ghost Wolves apart as mobile infantry. Mission's always been about maneuverability and versatility. Everyone's got to be proficient long range and close range."
She shrugs. "And for certain missions, melee works better. Right tool for the job."
